About
I am a Lecturer in Learning Technology and Shell Research Fellow at the Caledonian Academy, Glasgow Caledonian University, in the UK. I have been involved in research, development, and teaching in the area of technology-enhanced learning since 1996. My research interests are work-related learning, social technologies and socio-cultural factors impacting adoption of technology in learning contexts.
I received my MA in Romance-Germanic Philology from the Yerevan State University (Armenia) in 1997, my MSc in Educational and Training Systems Design from University of Twente (Netherlands) in 1998 and my PhD in Educational Science and Technology from the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences (research group of Prof. Betty Collis), University of Twente in 2006.
I have worked within both higher education and corporate learning sectors. Prior to joining Glasgow Caledonian University, I was as an Associate Director and Research Fellow at the International Centre for Research on Learning at University of Dundee. I held research and visiting lectureship positions at universities in the Netherlands and Germany, worked as a Research Analyst at Shell EP Learning and Leadership Development, and acted as a consultant to World Bank on projects involving use of network technology to support teacher training in Armenia.
